If you want to increase your club membership, get more people aware of who you are and what your Toastmasters club does for you.
The basic principle in business marketing is to have 7 to 13 “touches” to get to the point where a lead becomes a “sales-ready lead”. The same holds true in converting a warm Toastmaster lead into a new member.
The single best way of promoting your club is talking to others about how Toastmasters has helped them grow, and invite prospective members to a club meeting or event.
Here are four easy ways to start promoting your club this week.
- Toastmaster name badge/member pin day: wear your name badge or member pin on your meeting day. This is a great conversation starter.
- Display Toastmasters mementos / trophies / certificates / best speaker ribbons at you work place. When colleagues ask about your Toastmaster display, give colleagues a mini pitch about Toastmasters and invite them to the next club meeting.
- Add a line about Toastmasters in their personal email signatures
- Update LinkedIn profile / Facebook profile and other social media to include Toastmasters. Anyone who sees your profile will begin to recognize that there is something called: “Toastmasters”.
