Ground Shaking: An Open House that starts and ends with a KABOOM is not your normal everyday meeting. It is a Special EVENT.
How can our club have a Super Star Event?
Start with a superstar speaker with an irresistible topic, marketed to as many people as possible, with a good explanation of Toastmasters, and an invitation to visit or join.
Example:
One example is to invite a superstar speaker to do a 30-minute talk. Example: “Be an Exceptional Presenter”.
- The presentation was full of good solid information, humor and audience participation.
- At the end of the presentation, a few practiced Toastmasters gave a 1-minute “Toast-a-monial”.
- An experienced Toastmaster gives a quick wrap-up, with an invitation to join or visit the Club at a regular meeting.
- Refreshments are provided before and/or after the meeting (or both), and TM information is given to all guests about the TM program and the Club.
- Applications should be on hand, as well as a guest book. Be sure to displays Toastmaster material including the TM magazines, and manuals.
- Never let your guest go home empty handed, consider clever promotional items and a guest presentation folder.
Few Other Ideas:
- Celebrate a milestone with a champagne hour – invite family, friends and your boss
- Conduct informal training’s on topics people want to know, such as how to use social media or power point presentations
- Razzle-Dazzle ‘Em with raffles and door prizes
