Greetings From Your District Director!

As you are aware, we are navigating uncharted waters with social distancing and the unsettling events happening in our country. Fortunately, we are doing an awesome job staying on track with our Toastmasters goals and our commitment to excellence.

The 2020-21 leadership team is excited to support our members and clubs as we advance our personal growth in Pathways to emerge as better speakers and leaders. Whether we continue virtually, or transition back to in-person meetings, we are committed to making your Toastmasters experience awesome! Because we have embraced the virtual meeting component, I have been ahead of my co-workers due to the skills I have developed from Zoom. This was a benefit we couldn’t have anticipated, and we have done an amazing job with all we have accomplished through this unprecedented time. Thankfully, we have Toastmasters to learn new skills and practice them in a safe environment.

My vision for 2020-21 is to see every member and every club operate with excellence and awesomeness. I challenge each one of you to do one thing you can look back and say, ‘Wow that was awesome!’ Even if one thing is giving your first speech, doing your first evaluation, completing your first path, or mentoring a new member, challenge yourself to awesomeness.

It is an honor and pleasure to serve as your District Director for the 2020-2021 Toastmasters Year. Thank you for your support, trust, and encouragement by joining me in making this the Year of Awesomeness in District 44![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1600628631166{background-color: #004165 !important;}”]Stay the Course and Set Sail with Us!

One of the best things we can do in times of uncertainty is to focus on what we can control. Our personal growth is one of those things, and we have the ability to do so in Toastmasters.

Now is your time to invest in your effective communication and leadership skills. Toastmasters International renewal portal is now open. Send your personal growth investment to your club treasurer and continue your commitment to improving vital skills for these new times.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Is your club a Quality Club?

Perhaps you aren’t sure.  Toastmasters International offers the Moments of Truth (MOT) from the Successful Club Series.  As a club, you want to make sure your new and prospective members’ have a positive interaction with your club.  As with everything in Toastmasters, the MOT is an evaluation guide to see if the club is delivering quality service and outstanding member experiences.  This year we are offering a new incentive.  We are calling it the Moments of Awesomeness.  Clubs must submit two Moments of Truth in the 2020-2021 Toastmasters Year.

The first submission is due by September 30th

The second submission is due by February 28th

In this virtual world, you can use Google Forms, Survey Monkey, or your own form.

Submissions should be sent to recognitionchair@d44toastmasters.org

Club Coaching is a vital role to support the success of our struggling clubs within the District. Clubs that have 12 members or less qualify for a Club Coach to assist in planning, organizing membership drives, coaching Officers in their roles, motivating members, and strengthen the heartbeat of the club.
In turn, Club Coaches receive valuable leadership skills in the process of sharing experiences to build up the club, members, and officers.
To learn more about the Club Coach role, whether you are currently coaching or aspiring to coach, join District 44’s Zoom Meeting on August 20, 7:00 pm.
Send inquiries to Club Coach Chair, William Carr, DTM    wlc2277@att.net
