Greetings From Your District Director!

This year is progressing with the energy and enthusiasm that we have all come to expect as Toastmasters! Our District Leadership Team has been working hard behind the scenes to keep every member focused on their journeys to grow as effective communicators and leaders. 

While we continue virtually we are committed to you and how to keep your Toastmasters experience awesome! Please keep connected with us through our social media and newsletters for upcoming events, webinars, and training workshops. We are striving to ensure you are receiving all the support you need to stay motivated and inspired as members, officers, and leaders. 

Our goal is to funnel the support down for each of you to step up and engage your new members with Pathways. All new members should have a mentor assigned to get them started strong. We each can focus on being an awesome mentor to new members and enable them to get the most out of their Toastmasters journeys. Remember we all need to share our Awesomeness.

Please reach out to us with your comments, suggestions, and even concerns if you see or feel there is room for improvement. We need your eyes and ears to help us stay ahead of the issues and continue to be the Awesome District 44 you have come to know and love!

I want to extend my gratitude to all the members who have stepped up to serve on the District leadership teams. We are so blessed to have Servant leaders to assist us in achieving our goals and objectives. Thank you for continuing to focus on your goals. We will thrive as we stick together stronger and more skilled as communicators and leaders.

Secure Your Club Meetings

Now that we are meeting mostly virtually all around the world, it has opened the unfortunate opportunity for hackers to bomb our on-line meetings. Toastmasters International is strongly encouraging all Toastmasters Meetings to be secured with a password and waiting room. Zoom hosts need to be cautious to only allow recognizable names of members and guests into club meetings.

Is your club a Quality Club?

Perhaps you aren’t sure.  Toastmasters International offers the Moments of Truth (MOT) from the Successful Club Series.  As a club, you want to make sure your new and prospective members’ have a positive interaction with your club.  As with everything in Toastmasters, the MOT is an evaluation guide to see if the club is delivering quality service and outstanding member experiences.  This year we are offering a new incentive.  We are calling it the Moments of Awesomeness.  Clubs must submit two Moments of Truth in the 2020-2021 Toastmasters Year. 

The first submission is due by September 30th. 

The second submission is due by February 28th. 

In this virtual world, you can use Google Forms, Survey Monkey, or your own form.

Valerie Rogers, 1956-2020 

Obituary

Valerie Rogers passed away Aug. 26, 2020. She was a long-time and dedicated Toastmaster who was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. Valerie will be missed by many, but rest in the peace and smiles knowing she is with our Father and her best friend, Bonnie Fauntleroy.
