Why Stay in Toastmasters?

Happy ToastmastersYou’ve broken through your fear of public speaking. In fact, you might even enjoy speaking and getting pretty good at it; even your audiences think so.

You may have been asking yourself, “Why renew my membership?”

While Toastmasters is often touted and even marketed as a place to overcome the fear of public speaking, those Toastmasters who leave miss opportunities.

Here are just five opportunities you may have not thought about.

  1. Toastmasters is a place to hone your abilities in a safe environment, where the outcome doesn’t end in, “You’re fired!”
  2. Your club is your laboratory where you can experiment with new material, new medium like Webinars, as well as delivery.
  3. Toastmasters provides a place to practice in front of a sympathetic audience and to receive feedback from people who want to help you.
  4. Toastmasters is where leaders are made. Here you can expand your repertoire of skills into leadership in a non-profit or other organization. Leadership is refined by learning how to motivate others.
  5. There is a plethora of skills you can hone: from meeting planning from groups of 20 at your club; to club officer training for 100-300; or even multi-day conferences for 200-400 with meals and a banquet.
